He has remained in close contact with his family via telephone after doctors advised him to not receive any visits. The 91-year-old was admitted to King Edward VII hospital in London in June after braving wet and windy conditions on a barge for several hours during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the river Thames, meaning he missed several events marking the Queen?s 60 years on the throne. He also spent four nights in hospital last December for a procedure to clear a blocked coronary artery. It is unknown whether the duke will be able to accompany the Queen on their next official engagement at the opening of the London 2012 Paralympic Games on August 29.
