A few days ago, there was a report via Japanese news outlet Nikkei that Sony Corporation was planning to promote Executive Deputy President Kaz Hirai to the President position in 2012.? Today, Sony Corp. has released a statement refuting those claims.
"Certain media reports were published on January 7th, 2012 regarding Sony Corporation's executive officers' appointments. Sony Corporation has made no announcement in this regard and nothing has been determined at this time,? said Sony in a response to Eurogamer.
Stringer was already asked to step down by some shareholders after the PlayStation Network hack last year. Is the writing on the wall for Sony?s current CEO?
